RUNNING FOR THE SNA-SC EXECUTIVE BOARD
Candidate Application | Candidate Packet | Position Descriptions
Becoming a member of the SNA-SC executive board is an invaluable experience in which students have the opportunity to get involved in a higher level of leadership. As a state board member, students can improve their professional development to lead and mentor other student nurses across the state. In the Candidate Packet, linked above, you will find details related to the positions that we will be electing at the state convention. In addition, you can find applications for the state board positions.
The deadline to be considered a Pre-Slated Candidate is January 31st, 2022 at 11:59pm. Candidates that are pre-slated will be able to submit with their application a recorded video to be published on SNA-SC's social media and sent out to constituents to start their campaigning in the new virtual setting. Candidate can submit applications up until the day before convention, but they will not be able to campaign until the are slated by the NEC Director.
Interested candidates that may have missed the Pre-Slated deadline will have opportunities to run from the floor during the the 1st, 2nd and 3rd House of Delegates meetings; last chance is Saturday, February 11th at 4:30pm. At the end of the HOD meeting candidate will be expected to present themselves to the attendees, so please come prepared with a speaker and ready to answer questions from attendees and current Executive Board members.
Interviews for all candidates will be held after dinner on Saturday, February 11th starting at 8:45pm. Interview times will be scheduled based on position and time candidate was slated. Please reach out to Disney Cuddington (President@SNA-SC.org) with any questions/concerns.
ARE YOU A DELEGATE?
Parliamentary Procedures Video | Delegate Packet Update COMING SOON!
Delegates are responsible for electing the best possible state officers for the Executive Board of SNA-SC. Delegates are encouraged to seek the opinions of their constituents present at the meeting in helping to arrive at appropriate decisions. Delegates are also responsible for discussing and voting on proposed resolutions submitted by the states' school chapters and SNA-SC. Delegates will discuss and vote on any proposed changes to the SNA-SC's Bylaws that are recommended by the Executive Board.
DELEGATES' CREDENTIALING DEADLINES
The deadline to enroll and/or update your NSNA Membership to be counted towards delegate numbers for your school is
January 15th, 2023 at 11:59pm.

Please ensure the ease of your school chapter's participation in the House of Delegates by reminding your Faculty Advisors that SNA-SC needs the number of total enrolled nursing and pre-nursing students on your campus (not just the SNA members). This information can be sent from a faculty member's school email to SNA-SC's President at President@SNA-SC.org.
**At 2020 SNA-SC Annual Convention, the House of Delegates voted to update SNA-SC Bylaws in regards to the number of delegates. SNA-SC now bases the number of delegates on the percentage of total nursing/pre-nursing students your school has in its SNA chapter.
SUBMIT A RESOLUTION
NSNA Resolution Guidelines | NSNA Resolutions Presentation
We like to encourage everyone to consider writing a resolution. Resolutions are written statements that are the basis for policies and actions of the NSNA. This is another great opportunity to get involved at the state level and potentially the national level. Please view the PowerPoint going into detail about how to write a resolution for the SNA-SC State Convention:
The primary author should submit to SNA-SC by January 20th, 2023 at 11:59pm with Subject Line "RESOLUTION SUBMISSION" and attach all necessary documents as outlined by NSNA. The Resolutions Committee will review and email you with any needed edits by January 27th, 2023 at 11:59pm. Please email the finalized Resolution by January 31st, 2023 at 11:59pm.
You can find more information about resolutions from NSNA HERE! Please do not hesitate to reach out to SNA-SC's President, Disney Cuddington (President@SNA-SC.org) with questions!
