About Ryan

An Ohio transplant in the South, Ryan is a second-career nursing student at the University of South Carolina-Columbia and is currently enrolled in an MSN-RN pre-licensure program. Before diving head first into the world of nursing, he worked as a classical musician performing in orchestras and teaching at both the high school and college level–if you listen closely, you can still hear him playing across the state. In addition to serving as President of SNA-SC, Ryan is also a member of the National Student Nurses' Association Board of Directors as an Ex-Officio Director, chairing the Council of State Presidents Committee. In both roles, he prides himself as a resource to others, leveraging his past experiences and love of learning to assist where he can. Ryan lives in Columbia with his husband, Jackson, their three cats, and an ever-growing garden.

President Responsibilities: 

• Oversees and collaborates with Executive Board Members, Executive Consultants and Professional Consultants at all meetings of the SNA-SC

• Engages in Community Service and events throughout the state with the Executive Board Members

• Travels to Annual Convention for NSNA

*President must hold the President-Elect position for the first year.
