ARE YOU A DELEGATE?

Delegates are responsible for electing the best possible state officers for the Executive Board of SNA-SC. Delegates are encouraged to seek the opinions of their constituents present at the meeting in helping to arrive at appropriate decisions. Delegates are also responsible for discussing and voting on proposed resolutions submitted by the states' school chapters and SNA-SC. Delegates will discuss and vote on any proposed changes to the SNA-SC's Bylaws that are recommended by the Executive Board.

Delegates and Credentialing:

  • The deadline to enroll and/or update your NSNA Membership to be counted towards delegate numbers for your school is 12/31/2020.

  • At SNA-SC Annual Convention 2020, the House of Delegates voted to update SNA-SC Bylaws in regards to the number of delegates. SNA-SC now bases the number of delegates on the percentage of total nursing/pre-nursing students your school has in its SNA chapter. Please ensure the ease of your school chapter's participation in the House of Delegates by reminding your Faculty Advisors that SNA-SC needs the number of total enrolled nursing and pre-nursing students on your campus (not just the SNA members). This information can be sent from a faculty member's school email to Xan Lutsky, SNA-SC Ethics & Governance Director, as soon as possible.

SUBMIT A RESOLUTION

We like to encourage everyone to consider writing a resolution. Resolutions are written statements that are the basis for policies and actions of the NSNA. This is another great opportunity to get involved at the state level and potentially the national level. Please view the PowerPoint going into detail about how to write a resolution for the SNA-SC state convention:

The primary author should submit to SNA-SC by 12/27/2020 at 2300 with Subject Line "RESOLUTION SUBMISSION" and attach all necessary documents as outlined by NSNA. The Resolutions Committee will review and email you with any needed edits by 01/01/2021 at 2300. Please email the finalized Resolution by 01/04/2021 at 2300. Submit to the NSNA Form by 01/15/2021 by 1700.

You can find more information about resolutions from NSNA here

Resolutions are DUE December 27th, 2020 at 11:59pm. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Xan Lutsky, Ethics & Governance Director (egdirector@sna-sc.org) with questions!

RUNNING FOR THE SNA-SC EXECUTIVE BOARD

Becoming a member of the SNA-SC executive board is an invaluable experience in which students have the opportunity to get involved in a higher level of leadership. As a state board member, students can improve their professional development to lead and mentor other student nurses across the state. Here is the Candidate Packet which explains in detail the positions that we will be electing at the state convention. In addition, you can find applications for the state board positions.

Check out our awards & applications page where you can apply for a SNA-SC executive board position!
