Happy Holidays from SNA-SC!

SNA-SC Constituents,

I hope everyone is having a great winter break so far! Hopefully everyone is resting up because SNA-SC has a busy spring semester planned for you all!

We will kick off the Spring 2012 semester with our first COSR meeting on Saturday, January 14th at 10 A.M. Please note it has been moved from the traditional first Saturday of each month due to a lot of schools not being in session at this time. This will be an important meeting to attend because we will be discussing Leadership Retreat, Capitol Day, National Convention, AND the SNA-SC 61st Annual State Convention to be held in the fall.

Get your adventure gear out! If you haven't heard yet, the SNA-SC Annual Leadership Retreat is all planned and we are just putting the finishing touches on your day. The 2012 Leadership Retreat will be held at Saluda Shoals in Columbia on February 18th starting at 9 A.M. Registration will open at 8:30 A.M. Final details will be released at the January COSR meeting, but we have an action packed day planned for you. Registration forms are available on the website and we strongly encourage you to pre-register. Pre-registration is $35 and registration at the door is $40. Lunch and participation in the team-building activities is included, plus there will be speakers!

We are extremely excited to announce that there will be a 2012 Capitol Day to be held at the State House on Thursday, March 22--final details to come in January!

And last, but certainly not least--get ready for the NSNA 60th Anniversary National Convention to be held in Pittsburgh, PA. Budgeting and hotel reservation information is already posted on NSNA's website. I hope we will see you there!

SNA-SC Constituents,

Welcome to COSR! I am honored to serve as your 2011-2012 SNA-SC President. I truly believe that you all have elected a very well qualified board and I am excited to see what the next year has in store for us as an organization. We look forward to serving you and hope that we can make this another great year for SNA-SC.

However, we need your support and help as constituents so that we may meet our goals for this organization. This starts with being active at your schools and spreading the word about SNA-SC and the NSNA. I encourage you all to not only seek out gaining new members, but also focus on retention of current members. I also encourage you to voice your opinions to the appropriate board member so we can take all opinions from constituents when planning projects and events.

We are just beginning our planning for the next year, but we already have some great ideas in store for Leadership Retreat and the Annual State Convention. I also hope that many of you will plan on attending the NSNA Annual Convention in Pittsburgh, PA from April 11^th-14^th. Following the meeting today, you will be receiving a list of dates for SNA-SC events that are planned throughout the next year.
