The Student Nurses’ Association of South Carolina (SNA-SC) is a pre-professional organization for pre-nursing and nursing students enrolled in South Carolina accredited associate and baccalaureate degree nursing programs. SNA-SC is an official constituent of the National Student Nurses' Association, Inc. (NSNA). SNA-SC offers leadership experience, educational opportunities, career networking, and information about the ever changing profession of nursing. Annual Convention Each fall the SNA-SC holds a convention to help students expand their knowledge and become a more involved and proficient nurse. Students from constituent schools across South Carolina are able to network with other students, educators, and employers. Several speakers and educational breakout sessions offer a variety of learning opportunities. Business of the SNA-SC, including electing new board members, amending by-laws, and voting on resolutions, takes place in the House of Delegates. Council of School Representatives The SNA-SC holds monthly Council of School Representatives (COSR) meetings in Columbia on the first Saturday of every month to network, share ideas, and discuss state and national topics of interest to student nurses and the nursing profession. To learn more, please visit the COSR page. Executive Board The SNA-SC elects ten members from constituent schools each year at the Annual Convention to represent the organization. Two faculty members from constituent schools serve as professional consultants to the group. Leadership Retreat The Leadership Retreat is held each spring and offers students a chance to improve their leadership skills, network, and have some fun! The one day event begins with speakers from across the state in leadership roles as nursing professionals. Following lunch, an exciting event is planned to put the students' leadership skills to work. |
